I read this article and it got me thinking - a possible lawsuit against the BCS to try and stop the greed train? Not a bad idea, but it will never work. Everyone knows it's and unfair and rigged system, but it's run by a bunch of college administrators so it's got to be legit, right? Plus, can you imagine the lawyers they could hire with all the cash they bring in? It would make O.J's dream team look like a bunch of first year law students. Nice idea, and yes Utah has gotten hosed, but it's pretty worthless lawsuit in my book.
Here are some other lawsuits we could file to make news and have as good as chance of winning as the Utah's AG:
Erin Andrews for causing emotional distress to Rey Maualuga when he tried to dance with her and she wouldn't even turn around, smile or in any way give him the time of day.
Don't get too upset with what you are about to read. I don't have any far-fetched dreams that the plan I lay out below might actually work. But like those e-mails that you got when gas was 4 bucks a gallon telling you "if everyone didn't buy gas for one day, we could stick it to the oil companies", my take is "if no one watched the BCS championship game, we could stick it to the BCS and force them into a playoff". It's really does seem plausible if it were to happen, but really, really hard to execute. I know I'm not going to convince 30 million people to turn off their TV, but I have some other suggestions to reduce the ratings of the BCS title tilt.
On Saturday one lucky young man will become the newest member of the Heisman Trophy club. The three finalists have been selected so let's see how they stack up along with their celebrity counterparts.
I'm not going to sit here and write any more than you can read on 1500 other blogs about how we need a playoff in college football or how the BCS is a crock. No matter how much bitching we do, it's going to stay the way it is, but I can wish, right? So here is my 6 team bracket playoff, where the top 2 bcs teams get byes. Alabama, who somehow dropped to 7 after losing by 11 points to #4 Florida, gets to moan that they are the odd man out. See, even with a playoff system there will be teams getting screwed. Here's how I see it playing out:
Game 1: #4 USC vs #5 Texas Tech - Anybody think TTU can win this game? Me neither. Next. 41-20 USC.

What the hell is upset alert anyway. While watching TV I hear "Which top 6 team should be on upset alert this week?" Serious? All of them should be on upset alert every single week why is this week any different? Every game means something every week PERIOD. Anytime someone gets beat I'm tired of hearing how it was a big upset and yada yada yada. This reminds me of the SEC earlier this season. This where the "We put our pants on one leg at a time" should come up with these teams that are on "upset alert." Coaching is the difference in these games always has been always will be. If the coach isn't prepared for the game the players won't be either. If you think a team can't or won't beat you so you don't have to prepare for them or look into the game plan and come up with an attack like you would if you were playing Florida every game then you should look in the mirror coaches and wake up your team. Do you think Pete Carrol is going to let Stanford beat his team this week? I doubt it. These coaches make so much money that I think if you lose these so called "can't lose games" you should be fined. Afterall getting the team ready is really why you have this job. All you do is prepare yourself, other coaches, players, waterboys and whoever else takes part in the team winning football games. Enough with the "upset alert" get ready to play the games against whoever is on your schedule for that week. If you are the team worrying about who will lose so you can have a shot to win the National Championship I say look in the mirror because it is you that will lose. Ask Penn St. if you don't believe me. Iowa? Really Iowa? I expect Joe Pa to send his fine money to me where I will give it to a worthy cause, ME! Honestly enough is enough with this crap. If you take care of your business what else can you do. SHUT UP and do your damn job!
We hear that Notre Dame AD Jack Swarbrick has given the totally-iffy "vote of confidence" for Charlie Weis. Generally that means a coach should be anything but confident. And we know that any time an AD or coach speaks, there is hidden meaning.
So we will break down Swarbrick's statements for you:
What He Said:"We don't engage in that process in the middle of any season."
What He Meant: "We're already on the phones with potential replacements so right after the season ends when we fire Charlie we can have somebody in to start recruiting. I pray to Touchdown Jesus that the new guy can recruit better than Weis"
With their loss Saturday to Toledo, Michigan is officially worse than anyone expected. Yes, we all know you are in a rebuilding year. And yes, there are going to be some bumps in the road. But losing to a team with only 1 win going into today (that was against Eastern Michigan) at home should be completely unacceptable to Wolverine supporters.
Who knows, maybe the UT Rockets have Michigan figured out. First they knock off EMU and then Big Blue both on the road. But the truth of the matter is Michigan is a Big 10 school. Even though they are playing in a new offensive system with a new coach, they should have been able to roll over a less talented team easily. I'm sure not even the guys in the Toledo locker room honestly thought they could win.
Boo hooo two of our teams lost that were in the top 10. Stop the damn excuses for every loss now. If you go to any conference game not ready to play like the overrated piece of shit teams you are you will get beat by anyone. Georgia got smacked right in the mouth the whole 1st half by a better team. Was that so hard to say? No, hell no. Florida has a chance to tie the game and can't block the MIDDLE of the line and they get a PAT blocked. Are you serious? That is the stuff high school football is made of not these big D-1 schools that are invincible. Then, to top that off Florida gets the ball back and on a 4th down and 1 they try to QB sneak up the gut? Didn't they prove they could not block the middle just a matter of minutes before? Now you are going to stuff it up the middle on a do or die play? It isn't the level of competition you ass bags it shitty coaching, poor preparation, and flat out getting outplayed by your opponent. You can't tip your cap and say congratumotherfuckinglations you were the better team today? Throw in the terrible Pac-10 with all the crybabies of the SEC and drown them with the Titanic. I'm so tired of the bull shit that comes with a top team getting beat by a low quality opponent. Florida and USC were both favored by more than 3 touchdowns, yes 3, and both were grossly outplayed. STFU and take your loss like men you suck just admit it and move on.
