First we learned the other night that Charles Barkley had gotten arrested on suspected DUI.  Last night, we found out it's likely true.  According to this story, Barkley had an incredible exchange with an officer in which he admits he has an apparent first-rate hooker in the car with him and then jokes that he will tattoo a cop's name on his ass if he "helps him out".

If you're keeping score at home, that's DUI, soliciting prostitution and attempted bribery in one night.

We Talkin' About Practice, Iverson Misses Again!  E-mail

Is Allen Iverson serious?  I really thought he was going to put on his big boy pants and try to be a good teammate.  I was wrong. Hell even we here at sftsports.com thought Iverson would show up for practice. One would think if you were traded to a contending team with a chance to win the Championship you could act like an adult and show up for your job.  It would be one thing if he got paid what any of us normal folks make but he makes millions of dollars per season.  Am I wrong for hoping the Pistons lose every game and don't see the playoffs?  Their team philosphy left when they traded Billups for this piece of shit and they will suffer from his me first attitude.  Hopefully someone puts him in his place but I'm not even sure that will affect him.  The NBA is bad enough and he makes me hate watching it even more.

lebron jamesIn last night's game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Lebron James hung 41 on said Bucks in the win for his Cavaliers.  Turns out it was the 3rd time in 4 games that he has reached the magical 41 number.  I guess 41 is the new 30 for the elite players in the NBA.  30 used to be a pretty good night, and now 40 barely makes a blip on our radar.  Most pros can score 41 points in any game and it's a career high.  For James or other elite players like Kobe, we're talking just another night at the office. A casual, routine 16-24 night from the floor. You half expect to look at the bench and see him drinking a beer with his feet crossed during timeouts.  He's like that one guy at the YMCA who is so much better than the rest of the old guys playing hoops that he just scores at will.  Just look at the guy's face in the picture.  He's like "Shit!..there he goes again.  What the hell am I supposed to do?".

Allen Iverson Has to Practice with the Pistons  E-mail

It's good to see Iverson has a sense of humor after being traded to the Pistons.  While I always have a hard time deciding which was funnier between Jim Mora's "PLAYOFFS?" rant and Iverson's "PRACTICE" one,  I got a good laugh out of this video.  Nice to see that he's able to make fun of himself.  Maybe he'll fit in nicely with the Pistons after all...
